Raymond James financial advisors and their clients can rely on Chris for a wealth of experience and knowledge gained from 30 years in the financial and accounting industries. Chris joined Raymond James in 2013 as part of the firm’s acquisition of Morgan Keegan. Prior to Morgan Keegan, Chris worked in the private client services group of Arthur Andersen. His many areas of expertise include sophisticated income, gift and estate tax planning for high net worth individuals and their families, stock option planning, succession and liquidity event planning for closely held business owners, planned charitable giving and education planning, and funding strategies. He is also a frequent presenter on tax and wealth transfer planning topics at Raymond James conferences across the country.
Chris earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting and master’s degree in accounting with an emphasis in taxation from the University of Mississippi Patterson School of Accountancy and his Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi School of Law. He also attended the Strum College of Law at the University of Denver’s Graduate Tax Program. Chris is a registered representative with FINRA, a licensed life and health insurance agent and variable annuity agent in Tennessee, a registered investment advisor representative with the Securities and Exchange Commission and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. His memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) (Taxation section), the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (Taxation section), the American Bar Association (Taxation and Real Property, Trust & Estate sections), the Tennessee Bar Association, the Memphis Bar Association and the Mississippi Bar. Chris and his wife are the proud parents of a daughter, Caroline, a graduate student at the University of Tennessee (Knoxville), and identical twin sons, Grayson and Spencer, who are in their second years at Georgia Tech and University of Virginia, respectively. Chris was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, but moved 13 times in his earlier years – living in many places including Florida, Hawaii, several parts of Louisiana and eventually Tennessee.
