Theresa Benson
Teri Benson, CEPA, CDFA® Financial Advisor

Teri brings over two decades of financial services experience to serve Pando clients. She began her career in 1993 as a marketing strategist for an Orlando-based, investment management firm, where she soon realized that an ability to communicate effectively about capital markets and investment strategies was akin to speaking a foreign language. She seized this opportunity. With unrivaled dedication, Teri learned this 'financial' language and communicated it with fluency and simplicity. In doing so, her client relationships and career opportunities flourished.

For the next dozen years, Teri shared her passion for finance with colleagues and clients of STI Capital Management (a.k.a. Trusco Capital), where she managed institutional trust relationships including corporate pension/profit sharing plans, 401(k) plans, municipal pension systems and endowment/foundation clients.

By 2001, Teri assumed a leadership role in the design of parent company SunTrust's 401(k) services, where she expanded the bank's investment due diligence process to include external investment offerings. Ultimately, Teri was tapped to lead the firm's pioneering effort to distribute Trusco's investment strategies, establishing partnerships with leading investment firms, including Fidelity, Charles Schwab, John Hancock and Transamerica.

So accomplished in her time at SunTrust, Teri's investment colleagues offered her a founding partner role in the launch of a private capital-backed registered investment adviser, specializing in small cap stock investing. Her responsibilities included the launch and supervision of the firm's mutual funds designed for institutional and private clients. In partnership with her team, Teri grew the firm to $2.0 billion in assets under management. The entrepreneurial experience was invaluable, and uniquely positions Teri to advise new and established business owners with first-hand knowledge of their challenges and opportunities.

Teri's attention to detail, collaborative approach and great empathy are the foundation of her lasting relationships with clients. At Pando, she brings her investment and communication capabilities together with experience from her own life's transitions to assist clients plan, preserve and invest. Teri's deep sense of service radiates beyond Pando clients to making an impact in her community. She serves on the Board of the Women's Executive Council and is a past Board Member of Dave's House in Orlando.

Teri is a proud recipient of a Bachelor of Arts degree (1993) and M.B.A. in Finance (2001), Summa Cum Laude, from the University of Central Florida.
